"Insecurity and immaturity"

I work for a crap manager. I am a graphic designer and art director for a magazine. We have a staff of four people. The three of us work together as a team and feed off of each other's successes, while he holds himself above us, and makes decisions based on his own needs and goals.

I had my evaluation a couple of weeks ago and he had the audacity to give me a low mark on "Teamwork". When I asked why, he said "well, I'm part of the team, too."

Problem is, we don't see him as part of the team. I think his problems stem from his insecurity and immaturity. He micromanages everything. He seeks blame and does not accept responsibility for any errors or problems.

If we're having a problem, he walks away without coming up with a possible solution, then does nothing until it directly affects him. He does sales and is losing customers left and right. He is sneaky and not the least bit trustworthy. He has made off-color comments that, made to the right person, could be construed as sexual harrassment.

"Conflict of interest"

In fact, I think the whole company is very discriminatory toward women - none of upper management is a woman. His boss, Arthur Tightclub, is a member of the family whom the business is named after. They also have worked together in the past. In my opinion, it is a conflict of interest. He will go above and beyond to kiss up to him and I KNOW he lies to him. He will do anything to make himself look good at the expense of others.

They refuse to do anything about him. We have been to HR, to his boss and everyone knows that he's a lame manager, and they act like they know he's a problem, but won't do anything about him.

He has had problems as the manager of another department in the past. They, also, were predominantly women.

"Habitual liar"

I personally see him as a habitual liar who has gone a bit too far and will go deeper. I feel he is definitely the type to embezzle and cannot wait until the day I see a headline in their very own newspaper that says ">>>>>>> convicted of embezzlement."

We just lost our office manager and I feel it is only the beginning of a mass exodus. I cannot deal with it anymore. We've done all we could. He's not a respectable, professional or trustworthy person and I've had it. We are exhausted of the daily ordeals and think that surely he must have something on them that they can't get rid of him. What could it possibly be?
